Cathy Pearson has been writing since she was a little girl and has the
notebooks to prove it. She received a B.A. in English and taught
literature and composition after college. While traditionally employed in
the corporate jungle, she was the author of numerous courses and manuals
for sales and management training.
But her creative writing was only published as the occasional letters to
editors or as a poetry contest winner in local papers. During her
nine-to-five life, she began many books and short stories that were never
finished until she came out of the artistic closet in the late 90's and
began to see her "day job" as the means to launching more creative
careers.
Cathy has worked as a part-time professional actress in musical theater
and commercials. While juggling self-employment and acting, she began
writing what she loved to read: cozy mysteries where everyday life is
both thrilling and hilarious. She also became a much more serious painter
with her dramatic still-life paintings of photo-realistic flowers being
collected throughout the country.
In late 2004, her alter ego, Cassie Grimes, was launched with the
publication of the first book, Family Ties. Heart-pounding
action and laugh-out-loud humor are the trademarks of a mystery series
where the smart-mouthed heroine manages to save the day with the help of
her two sleuthing dogs and a series of unlikely people. The second book,
Trouble in Paradise, finds Cassie, her reluctant husband and
adorable dogs in sunny Florida. Her best friend is in jail and Cassie is
hot on the case with the help of the dogs, a former boyfriend and a couple
of geriatric Charlie's angels.
Cathy lives in Ohio with her husband and two Bichons, Maggie and A.J.
She has begun the work on the third in her mystery series, but has a
slight problem. With so many interests, Cathy's torn between bumping
someone off in an art gallery or on camera or, maybe, in an industrial
setting. The only thing that's certain is that wherever murder and mayhem
intrude on the life of Ms. Grimes, her nosy nature will put her and her
trusty dogs into action-packed situations with hilarious results.
